What is Launcher?
So, there I had said that Android is highly customizable and we can use it in the way we like. And now here we are going to talk about 'Launcher'. You can understand launcher as one of the most powerful feature of Android which help us customize our devices in the way we like. Launcher is usually the home screen and app drawer. This is what launcher basically means. Many OEMs like Samsung, HTC, modify the stock launcher and create their new own for their device, like HTC has Sense, Samsung has Touchwiz, etc. Oh, I just said stock launcher, so what does that mean? Stock launcher is the launcher which is unmodified and is as Google had released and include in the open source code. So, you find modified launcher everywhere then where do you find stock launchers? You can find stock launchers in Nexus devices, they offer a complete stock experience as thy are released by Google.
How to install a Launcher?
So, now let's know how we can install a launcher and use it. There are many launcher available in the market. Some are available for free whereas some cost you money. You can either download one from Play Store, or search for a apk in the internet and install it directly. Some of the most renowned launchers are, Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher, Google Now Launcher, etc. I will be soon publishing a article covering the best Android Launchers available, so stay tuned. So, let's get back to the point. Today, I will be using Nova Launcher as a example. I recommend using Play Store to download launchers rather than googling for one as it is more safe and secure.

- Head over to Google Play Store, Search for Nova Launcher and Install it.
- After it's installed, now just press the home button, you will be given a list of launchers you have, From there, select Nova Launcher and choose always. OR, go to Settings->Home->and select Nova launcher there.
